Sisters compete in state pageants
HAGERSTOWN — Two local sisters are competing in the Miss Maryland Pageant this week in Hagerstown. Miss Cumberland, Nicolette Bailey and Miss Mason Dixon Outstanding Teen, Malia Bailey, are competing for the titles of Miss Maryland and Miss Maryland Outstanding Teen.
Title winners go on to compete in the Miss America and Miss America Outstanding Teen pageants.
County meetings set next Thursday
CUMBERLAND — The Allegany County commissioners’ next public work session and meeting is scheduled for Thursday, July 2, according to County Clerk Carol Gaffney.
The work session and meeting scheduled for June 25 was canceled.
Central Assembly plans celebration
CUMBERLAND — Central Assembly of God will hold its second annual summer celebration on July 5 at 7 p.m.
Blow-up games, food, prizes and entertainment will be featured along with a free movie showing at dusk. Patrons should bring a lawn chair and coat or blanket.
Garrett association meeting July 1
MCHENRY — The Garrett County Electrical Mechanical Association will meeting Wednesday at 7 p.m., at room 224 at Garrett College.
All area contractors and their employees associated with electrical, plumbing and HVAC work are invited.
A prominent real estate agent will comment on the local industry in light of the economic downturn. The discussion will include history of real estate in the county and projections for the future of the local real estate industry.
An informational briefing is planned for each regular monthly meeting. The meetings are held the first Wednesday of every month.
