FROSTBURG — Michael Eugene Via, 60, of Frostburg, died Thursday, April 16, 2009 at the Oakland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born Nov. 29, 1948 in Frostburg, Michael was the son of Iva E. (Rosenberger) Via and the late Albert R. Via. In addition to his father, Michael was preceded in death by one niece, Valerie Anne Via.

Mr. Via was formerly employed as a grounds keeper with Frostburg Memorial Park.

Michael was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Frostburg.

Surviving are his mother with whom he resided; one brother, Albert N. Via, LaVale; one half-brother, Joseph Lavin, Frostburg; two nieces, April Lynn Via, Morantown and Rebecka Lynn Adams, Hagerstown.

Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Harold Wightman officiating.

Interment will be in the Emmanuel Methodist Cemetery, Rt. 40 west of Frostburg.
