Garrett leaders will recognize achievements, review schedules

OAKLAND — The Garrett County Board of Education will give out Maryland School Performance Recognition to three schools as well as review the high schools’ master schedule at its meeting Tuesday.

The meeting will begin with public commentary at 4 p.m. before the board will meet in closed session until 5:30 p.m.

At 5:30 p.m., the public agenda topics include the review of the Northern and Southern high schools master schedule, the biannual financial report and taking action on the 2009-2010 school calendar.

At 6:15 p.m. 2008 Maryland School Performance Recognition will be given to Crellin Elementary, Grantsville Elementary and Swan Meadow School. Swan Meadow will also be recognized for winning the Maryland State Exemplary Reading Award.

Time has been set aside at 7 p.m. for public comment and participation on any topic.
