ACTION:

• Awarded a two-year contract beginning July 1 to manage county tourism to River’s Edge Business Associates, led by Barb Buehl. Buehl serves as county tourism director through the chamber of commerce. That deal expires June 30. Buehl, of Oldtown, will continue to be assisted by Jonathan Hutcherson, of Exclamation Labs, and McClarran & Williams Inc. The contract calls for an annual management fee of $110,000 — the same yearly amount since 2006.

DISCUSSION:

• The county has received more than 300 responses on the work-force survey released a month ago. Responses are still being accepted. County residents can call David Nedved at (301) 777-5967.
