Planners to meet Wednesday

CUMBERLAND — The Miller Bottom rezoning hearing for the Midland area will resume at Wednesday’s meeting of the Allegany County Planning and Zoning Commission at 7 p.m. in the County Office Complex.

Other agenda items include presentation of a land suitability analysis, a summary of the smart growth listening session, and the water and sewer plan.

Republicans meet Tuesday

CUMBERLAND — The Allegany County Republican Club will meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. on the second floor of the Washington Street Library. Agenda items will include the election of officers for 2009 and the floor will be open for any additional nominees.

The club will install its officers during the January meeting.

Keyser school has science fair

KEYSER, W.Va. — Keyser Primary/Middle School will hold a science fair Thursday with judging from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

The displays may be viewed until 6:45 p.m. when the award winners will be an-nounced.

YMCA open house Jan. 19

CUMBERLAND — The Cumberland YMCA’s Riverside Branch will sponsor an open house on Jan. 19, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

All community members are welcome to try out the facility, take an aerobics class and participate in the day’s scheduled events.
