Fort Hill plays for region title tonight
CUMBERLAND — The Fort Hill volleyball team will be playing at Poolesville tonight at 6 o’clock in the Maryland Class 1A West Region final.

Martin selected goaltender of month
WOOSTER, Ohio — Kody Martin was named the United Junior Hockey League’s goaltender of the month for October.
Martin, playing for the Wooster Oilers, finished the month third in the league among goaltenders in minutes played (490), tied for fifth in save percentage (.90) and seventh in goals allowed (3.67).
Martin is a 2008 graduate of Allegany High School and is in his first season in Junior A hockey.
Allegany spaghetti dinner today
CUMBERLAND — Allegany High School will hold a pre-Homecoming pep rally spaghetti dinner today, 4 to 6:45 p.m., in the Allegany cafeteria. The pep rally begins at 7 p.m.
The dinner includes spaghetti, meatballs, salad, bread and beverage. The cost is $6 per person and takeouts are available. Tickets are available from Allegany girls and boys basketball players, during school hours at the Allegany High School office, or at the door tonight.
Schwinabart team wins scramble
BURLINGTON, W.Va. — The team of Rich Schwinabart, Monty Edwards, Clyde Broadwater and Skip Squires shot a 58 to take the seniors scramble Thursday at Mill Creek Country Club.
In second place, with a score of 60 in a card-off, was the team of Ben Fout, Tom Krogel, Joe Heath and Buzz Shrout. In third and fourth places, respectively, with scores of 60, were the teams of Bob Moore, Bill Metz and Hefty Newlon, and Bill Freeman, Bob Dorsey, Cliff Knotts and Butch Zacot.
Pin winners were Edwards (No. 3), F.V. Grady (No. 4) and Larry Friend (No. 8).
Frankfort Mat Club sign-up Nov. 16
FORT ASHBY, W.Va. — Frankfort Mat Club Youth Wrestling sign-ups will be held Sunday, Nov. 16, from 5 to 6 p.m., at Small World Gym in Fort Ashby.
There is a $30 registration fee with discounts given for additional children. New singlets may be purchased this year for $65 and registration fee will be waived. Wrestling practice will begin on Wednesday, Dec. 3.

F Club booth open this weekend
CUMBERLAND — The Fort Hill F Club booth will be open tonight before the pep rally from 5:30 until the end of the event.
The booth will be near the entrance to the old gym tonight, and near the tennis courts during the Homecoming game on Saturday.
Alco bowlers to meet Monday
CUMBERLAND — A meeting of candidates for the Allegany High School boys and girls bowling teams will be held Monday, Nov. 10, at 2:45 p.m. in the school library.
Tryouts for the team are tentatively set for Nov. 17-19 at White Oaks Lanes. Anyone who cannot attend the meeting should contact coach Steve Luse at (240) 522-0080.
Dapper Dan execs meet Tuesday
CUMBERLAND — The Dapper Dan Club of Allegany County, Inc., will hold an executive board meeting Tuesday, Nov. 11, 8 p.m., at The Goodfellowship Club. All members are urged to attend.
Allegany wrestling sets sign-up dates
CUMBERLAND — The Allegany High School wrestling team will hold sign-ups in the school library on Nov. 10 and 11 at 5:30 p.m.
