BB gun shooting

CUMBERLAND — A 19-year-old Frostburg area man was arrested Sunday evening after he allegedly shot four youths with a BB gun and then threatened to shoot the father of one of the victims.

Allegany County Bureau of Police arrested Seth Matthew Kline of Woodland Road on one count of first-degree assault and five counts each of second-degree assault and reckless endangerment.

Kline remained jailed Monday at the Allegany County Detention Center on $65,000 bond, awaiting bail review Tuesday in district court.

None of the victims apparently required medical treatment following the 6:35 p.m. incident that occurred in the 13500 block of Old Legislative Road near Frostburg.

The victims were ages 7, 10, 12 and 15. One victim was shot between the eyes, another twice in the back, and two youths were shot in the lower legs as they ran from the area, police said.

The incident ended when Robert Hawkins intervened and removed an Air Soft rifle from Kline along with a pistol that Kline reportedly had tucked in his waistband.

A consent search of Kline’s residence led to seizure of several more Air Soft rifles, police said.
