Effie Pfitzenmayer [Flintstone]

FLINTSTONE — Effie Pfitzenmayer, 84, of Flintstone, passed away Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008 at the Golden Living Center.

Born June 19, 1924 in Onega, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Winebert Morral and Delphia (Helmick) Morral. Mrs. Pfitzenmayer was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles G. Pfitzenmayer; a son, Emory Vance; two sons-in-law, Rick Browning Sr., and Frank Grieves Sr.; as well as three sisters and four brothers.

Mrs. Pfitzenmayer was a retired waitress at Shipway’s and worked at many other local restaurants.

She is survived by her daughters, Rosemary Browning and her special friend Jeffrey Moore, Flintstone and Shirley Ann Grieves and her special friend Wayne Bucy, Cresaptown; her sister, Ruby Harrison, Flintstone; her grandchildren, Ricky Browning, Tristan Moore, DeWayne, Sharon, Frankie, Jimmy and Debbie Grieves, Debbie McCullough, Melvin Gallion, Mary Ellen Livingood, Robin Kelley and Sue Jay; as well as 25 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren; and a special nephew, Harold “Sonny” Harrison, Frostburg.

Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com on Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday, Oct. 13, 2008 at noon with Pastor Richard Ganoe officiating.

Interment will be in Glendale Cemetery.
