CUMBERLAND — Dates for the 18th annual Broadway Show Tour are May 27-31, according to tour leader Jo Ann Stangel.
The tour, sponsored by the Cumberland Theatre, includes four nights and five days in New York City at a hotel within walking distance of the theater district, Fifth Avenue and Restaurant Row.
Tours are available to the Statue of Liberty, South Seaport Shops, Little Italy, Circle the Island boat trip up the Hudson River, shops on Houston Street, Chinatown and the botanical gardens at either Brooklyn or New York City.
Also included in the tour are two tickets to any Broadway show selected by the individual tour members. One of the most popular musicals is “Billy Elliott,” with music by Elton John, which is the original London production. Dolly Parton has written the music to “Nine to Five,” based on the movie in which she appeared. Also in the lineup are “The Little Mermaid,” “Shreck, The Musical,” “South Pacific,” and “Equus,” starring Daniel Radcliff of “Harry Potter” fame. Also featured are the revival of “Pal Joey” starring the leading man from “Jersey Boys,” the musical, “A Tale of Two Cities” and any of the other productions playing on Broadway.
Hotel rooms are based on double occupancy and the price of the tour includes transportation, hotel, baggage, tips and tickets to the shows.
