Bobcats overpower Shenandoah

WINCHESTER, Va. — Five players scored two goals each as the Frostburg State dusted Shenandoah, 11-0, for its third straight win in college women’s field hockey Wednesday afternoon.

The Bobcats (3-1) scored five goals over a 10-minute stretch late in the first half in building a 7-0 halftime cushion.

Breanne Russell put the Bobcats on the board 6:17 into the contest with the first of her two scores. Her second goal, at 21:33, made it 3-0 and started the five-goal run.

Aly Erickson, Sammy Stalter, Brooke Tapman and Sami Topolski scored twice for FSU. Shenandoah (0-5) fielded only nine field players and got off just one shot.

Frostburg State will play SUNY Brockport on Saturday, in the Salisbury Tournament.
