Elizabeth Kaspar of Leonardtown samples a traditional moon cake she received from Yan Bao of China Tuesday evening at the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival at Frostburg State University.
The event in the Compton Science Center featured displays and plenty of Chinese food.
Also known as the Moon Cake Festival, the event is the third major festival of the year and is celebrated on the 15th day of the eight month of the Chinese calendar.
The sweet moon cakes are prepared in the shape of the moon and contain various fillings.
