Greene Street traffic striping needs work
This is written hoping that it will be noticed by the local government official who is responsible for correct paint stripes on Cumberland streets.
At the intersection of Greene Street and the entrance of W.Va. Alternate 28 (going over the blue bridge into Ridgeley, W.Va.) the solid white stripe marking the left side of the curved exit from Greene Street onto the bridge makes it illegal to turn onto the exit unless one is driving from the parking lane in front of the Cumberland Optical Co.
That one must cross this stripe to properly enter the bridge is obvious during periods of good visibility.
But at night or during periods of precipitation, if a driver is passing the parking lane in front of Cumberland Optical and keeping the solid stripe to the right as the law requires, he (she) will suddenly strike a curb and go onto a traffic island.
This problem can be fixed easily, but it should be done quickly.
