Bath County beats East Hardy, 28-6

BAKER, W.Va. — Bath County (Va.) turned a nailbiter into a blowout by scoring three touchdowns in the final five minutes in a win over East Hardy Friday night at East Hardy.

Bath County led by just 7-6 midway through the fourth quarter. But in the final five minutes, Bath scored on a 77-yard run, a 14-yard run, and a five-yard pass to blow things open.

Bath led 7-0 at halftime, and East Hardy’s Tyler Brill scored on a two-yard run in the third quarter to cut it to 7-6. The extra-point kick failed.

Brill finished with 19 carries for 65 yards and also caught two passes for 18 yards for the Cougars. Quarterback Jeremiah Bowman completed 6 of 17 passes for 66 yards.

East Hardy (2-1) hosts Pocahontas County on Friday night.
