CUMBERLAND - Hite Roofing trailed 8-1 by the end of the third inning, but scored nine runs over the fifth, sixth and seventh innings to pull off a 10-8 come from behind win over Times-News in a Wednesday evening Rec League game.
David Levine singled twice, including a two-run single in the seventh inning that broke a 8-8 tie. David Smith also singled twice to compliment two outstanding plays in centerfield. Justin Munson had a triple and a single, while Ryan Davis and John Taylor finished with three singles each.
Taylor relieved Munson in the fourth to shut out Times-News for the remainder of the game.
T-N was led by Tristen Beyer with a triple and a single. Chris Mooreland, Vinnie Marion and Eddie Szymanski all singled twice.
Hite Roofing will play tonight against American Legion at Donahue Field. Times-News will play tonight at Gregs Auto in Keyser.
Personal Best 7
Barrelville ODC 1LAVALE - Cole Dudiak pitched a complete game, striking out seven and allowing just one run and three hits in Personal Best's win over Barrelville ODC Wednesday evening.
Jeremy Sneathen drove in two runs, the first on a single in the first and then later with a double in the fourth. Tyler Smearman and Ryan Buzzard had two singles each, with Buzzard driving in a pair of runs as well. Zach Braithwaite tripled in the sixth and scored LaVale's final run.
Shane Chambers had a double and a single for two of Barrelville's three hits.
Both teams are scheduled to play Hite Roofing next. Personal Best (4-1) will host them on Wednesday, while Barrelville travels to Bel Air on Friday.
American Legion 6
Greg's Auto 3
CUMBERLAND - Dylan Norris hit a solo home run to highlight American Legion's three-run third inning and lead them over Greg's Auto.
Norris finished with the homer, a double and scored twice. Cody Popluhar had two doubles as well as pulling catching duties. Legion trailed 1-0 after the top of the third, but after scoring three in the bottom of the inning added two more in the third to take a commanding lead.
Robbie Clayton homered for Greg's, while Morgan Perry singled three times. Mark Zinn and Tommy Stark each added two singles.
American Legion (3-4) will play host to Hite Roofing today, while Greg's (2-4) plays at home against Times-News, also tonight.
