Wilma Susannah Bigelow [Washington, D.C.]

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Wilma Susannah Bigelow, 99, of Washington, D.C., died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville, Md.

Born Oct. 10, 1910, in Accident, Md., she was the daughter of the late Wilhelm and Sarah (Beitzel) Zinkan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Neil R. Bigelow.

Mrs. Bigelow was a bookkeeper for Garfinkel’s Department Store. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Accident, and also First Trinity Lutheran Church, Washington, where she volunteered many hours of her time.

She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted in the Zion Lutheran Church on Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Charles Lehmann officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services.

Interment will be in the Zion Cemetery.
