LAVALE — Naomi Jean Fadley, 69, of LaVale, passed away suddenly on the morning of Feb. 2, 2010, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center and is now in the loving arms of our Lord Jesus.
Born in Cumberland on April 9, 1940, Naomi was the daughter of the late Henry and Jean Border, LaVale. She was also preceded in death by her two-year-old sister, Sarah Jane, many years ago.
Naomi loved to create beautiful things. Naomi was a floral designer at Cumberland Floral for over 20 years, working with her good friend, Elaine.
Naomi was the light in our family, always greeting each and everyone of us saying "come in, I'm so glad to see you," no matter the time or day. She loved her husband of 53 years, Marshall, with a fierce and loyal passion. She loved her children, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She loved her brother, her sister, the nieces, nephews and even the pets, with everything a person could give. Naomi always saw the good in everyone and had an overflowing abundance of love and understanding for all who knew her. A more beautiful woman inside, as well as out, could not be found. She loved the Lord Jesus with all of her heart and soul and served Him faithfully throughout her life. She attended the First Church of God in Cumberland for many years along with her husband. She taught all around her about what faith in God could do. Her family and friends saw first hand the miracle that was her life. For many years she courageously battled many illnesses and those who didn't know her well never knew. For those of us who did know her she was a constant reminder of God's grace and love. Naomi was a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a great-grandmother, an aunt and friend. She was greatly loved and she will be greatly missed. Husbands love your wives; wives love your husbands; children love your parents and parents love your children for we know not the hour or the day or the night that we last will meet.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, Marshall "Tito" Fadley, are her daughter, Marsha Wolford; and her son, Steven Fadley and wife Julie, LaVale; four grandchildren, Aaron Wolford Jr. and wife LeAnn, Justin Wolford and wife Kelli, LaVale, Jennifer Wengerd and Jamie Emerick, Ellerslie; six great-grandchildren, Raevyn Wolford, Drake Wolford, Zalie Wolford, Jared Wolford, and Kaden Wolford, LaVale, and Jordon Wengerd, Ellerslie; a sister, Mary Louise Simpson and husband William "Sonny" Simpson, Cumberland, a brother, Harold D. Border and wife Linda, LaVale; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff that were there for her in those critical moments and then were there for her family with great compassion.
