Fire consumes a home on Uhl Highway near Marydale Monday evening, one of two house fires that occupied Allegany County units for hours, according to a dispatcher with the county 911 Joint Communications Division. The Uhl Highway fire was first reported at 7:38 p.m., and firefighting units from District 16, Wiley Ford, Oldtown, Baltimore Pike and Ridgeley were sent to the scene. Fire erupted at 13201 Dry Ridge Run in Flintstone just before 8 p.m., and units from Flintstone, Bedford Road, Baltimore Pike and Clarysville were sent to that location. Investigators from the Maryland State Fire Marshals Office were responding to both locations, the dispatcher said. Allegheny Power was also sent to both scenes.
