OAKLAND — An Oakland man was arrested on various charges when police executed a search warrant at his residence Friday.
Leslie Allen Bittinger, 43, was charged with two counts of felony theft scheme; six counts of felony theft and 12 counts of misdemeanor theft and was awaiting a bond hearing later in the day.
The Garrett County Sheriff’s Office said Bittinger is alleged to have established a bank account in West Virginia and made hundreds of deposits using fraudulent and ficticious checks.
Bittinger allegedly made numerous automated teller machine withdrawals, debit card purchases and on-line payments against the account in Garrett County in June and September, police said.
