Allegany County code enforcement officers began the abatement process of junk lying in the yard of a home on Opessa Street in Oldtown last month. Workers removed more than 1.2 tons of household garbage, along with three inoperable vehicles, a refrigerator, a screen door and an old washing machine from the lawn.
