Shaw Beach to close temporarily
ELK GARDEN, W.Va. — The Shaw Beach recreation area at Jennings Randolph Lake will close today for safety reasons after unusually dry conditions have caused low water levels.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will reopen the beach to public day use once its waters reach a safe elevation level. Depending on the amount of rainfall the watershed receives, the lake elevation could increase, which would delay the beach’s closing date.
For lake status information, call (304) 355-2890, (304) 355-2346 or (301) 359-3861 or log on to www.nab.usace.army.mil/recreation/jenran.htm.
