BLOOMINGTON — The Maryland Department of Environment’s Water Management Administration will conduct a public informational hearing Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Bloomington Fire Hall to discuss and accept comment about upcoming repair work at Savage River Dam.
The Upper Potomac River Commission has submitted an application to replace flood gates at the bottom of the dam. The work will require the reservoir to be completely drained for several weeks. Based upon recommendations from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, the project is scheduled for start and completion this winter.
