LAST MEETING: Thursday.



ACTION: Two commissioners — Robert Hutcheson was absent — approved a consent agenda that included:

• Purchase of two pumps for $43,500 to deliver drinking water to Westernport during the draining of Savage River Reservoir this winter.

• Use of $2,850 from sale of horse stalls at the fairgrounds to purchase small animal pens.

• Low bid of of more than $867,000 from Cumberland Petroleum for gasoline, diesel fuel, heating oil and kerosene.

• Design and construction services contract of $930,000 to Hazen & Sawyer Environmental Engineers, Raleigh, N.C., for the Savage River Dam Flood Gate Replacement Project.

DISCUSSION:

• Congratulated Jerry Frantz and Jay George, representing the finance department, for obtaining the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the 17th consecutive year.
