FROSTBURG — Dick and Carol Shewbridge celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary May 19, 2012, with a family dinner held at the Hen House Restaurant.
Dick and Carol were united in marriage on May 19, 1962, at Melvin Methodist Church, Cumberland.
Both Dick and Carol are 1960 graduates of Fort Hill High School.
Born in Baltimore, Feb. 3, 1942, (“Happy Birthday Dad”), Dick retired from PPG in 1994 and currently works part-time at Tractor Supply.
Carol was born in Cumberland, one day later, Feb. 4, 1942, (“Happy Birthday Mom”) and retired from Atlantic Broadband in 2004 and Dr. Robustiano Barrera’s office in 2011
Together the couple has two children, Debbie Shewbridge and Mike Lishia, Grantsville, and Richie Shewbridge, Cumberland. They also have two grandchildren, Lauren McIntosh and David Growden, Centerville, Pa., and Tanya Palmer and husband Bryan, Grantsville; and five “granddogs,” Willie, Shooter, Oscar, Bo and Mopar, and Whispers the cat.
Dick and Carol enjoy car shows, the beach, farming, gardening, canning from their garden and, most of all, spending time with their family and pets.
