Doris, Francis Taccino celebrate 55th anniversary


FROSTBURG — Francis and Doris (Layman) Taccino, Frostburg, celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on Dec. 26, 2009. They were married on Dec. 26, 1954, at St Michael's Catholic Church, Frostburg, by the late Rev. Francis Montgomery. Their attendants were Michael Taccino, Pittsburg, Pa., brother of the groom, and Mary Louise (Layman) Winfield, Frostburg, sister of the bride. The ringbearer was the Rev. Arthur Valenzano, nephew of the groom, and the flower girl was Anita (Layman) Ahalt, sister of the bride.

Doris is the daughter of the late William C. and Lydia A. Layman, Frostburg. Francis is the son of the late Frank and Angela Taccino, also of Frostburg. Francis and Doris are the parents of two daughters, Brenda Mathews and husband, David, LaVale, and Teresa Mathews and husband, Jerry, Cumberland; and one son, Francis Taccino Jr. and wife, Tonya, Mercersburg, Pa. They also have 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The couple are both retired and enjoying traveling and spending time with their family.

As a gift from their children, the couple were presented with a weekend stay at Bedford Springs Resort, Bedford, Pa.
