PALM COAST, Fla. — The sons of Rev. and Mrs. Gary R. Isner would like to announce the celebration of their parents 50th wedding anniversary.
Gary and Nellie were married on May 20, 1960, in the LaVale, Md., United Methodist Church.
Gary enjoyed a long career as a pastor in the United Methodist Church, beginning in the West Virginia Annual Conference at the Meadowville Charge and Arnetsville Charge before transferring to the Florida Annual Conference, where he served for 35 years.
Nellie was a homemaker and mother to their four sons and also worked as a sales merchandiser.
The couple recently retired to Palm Coast.
The couple began their celebration by taking a 12-day journey, with their Maltese, Tater, through the Painted Desert, Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Zion National Park, the Red Canyon and Brice Canyon before arriving in Estes Park, Colo. They were joined by their family to continue the anniversity celebration at the home of their second eldest son, Howard, who hosted family members for a week. Other family members in attendance were Randy and Lori Isner and their children, Craig and Paige; Rob and Stephanie Isner and their children, Coleman and Chloe; and Scott and Penny Isner and their son, Dylan. Scott's son and daughter in law, Kyle and Brittany, were unable to attend. Christa Turner, a family friend also was present for the celebration.
While enjoying their stay in Estes Park, the entire family enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the Rocky Mountain National Park, the wildlife, hiking and sightseeing.
The couple ended their month-long celebration by traveling home with Tater to Palm Coast.
