BOWLING GREEN — Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ruppenkamp of Bowling Green were married in Cumberland on April 22, 1946 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. They celebrated the anniversary of 65 years of marriage with their family at their daughter's home in Richmond, Va.
Mr. and Mrs. Ruppenkamp have one son and three daughters, Mike Ruppenkamp, and wife, Peggy, of Cumberland; and Marilyn Felten, and husband, Eddie, of Fayetteville, N.C.; Terry Whitworth, and husband, Horace, of Richmond; and Elaine Cessna, and husband, Marty, of Fayetteville. They have also been blessed with 12 grandchildren, Katie and Mike Ruppenkamp, Amy Smith, Laurie and Ryan Felten, Taylor, Laura and Hannah Whitworth, Alli and Robbie Sears and Devon and Tyler Cessna; and three great-grandchildren, Haleigh and Noelle Smith and Jeremiah Shook.
Mr. Ruppenkamp served with the Merchant Marines during World War II and retired from Allegany Ballistics Laboratory in 1987 after 35 years of service.
Mrs. Ruppenkamp worked at Just Manufacturing for 11 years and retired from Catholic Education Ministries of the Archdiocese of Baltimore in 1989 after six years of service.
The couple resides in the same home Mrs. Ruppenkamp has lived since age 14.
