OLDTOWN — Sandy and Tom Robinson of Oldtown celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on Saturday, April 12, 2008, by renewing their wedding vows at the Oldtown Volunteer Fire Department. Pastor Mike Henning and Pastor Charlie Riggleman led the vow renewal ceremony.
Sandy is the daughter of the late Inez and Francis Norton of Cumberland. Tom is the son of the late Irene and Earl Robinson of Oldtown. The couple met at a dance at District 16 Fire Department 52 years ago. They were married on April 13, 1958, at Davis Memorial United Methodist Church by the late Rev. Charles Huffman.
Tom retired from Kelly Springfield and AMM Corporation and Sandy retired from the Allegany County Board of Education after 34 years. Tom and Sandy are members of Oldtown United Methodist Church and Oldtown Lions Club.
Tom and Sandy are the proud parents of three children, Tom and wife, Gina, of Jacksonville, N.C., and Kathy and Greg and wife, Pam, all of Oldtown. They also have six grandchildren, Kyra, Kim, Jeremy and Jesse Robinson and Krista Hetrick and Justin Hetrick and wife, Brooke.
Following the vow renewal, a reception for friends and family was held and a photo slide presentation of the past 50 years was viewed by the 75 guests present.
Tom and Sandy wish to thank their relatives and friends for making the day so memorable.

The couple was treated to a celebration dinner at the famous Golden Steer Steak House near the Las Vegas “Strip.” Travis Allen, noted Las Vegas Elvis impersonator, made a surprise appearance at dinner to sing a few of Denny’s and Pat’s favorite songs, including their wedding song, “I Want You, I Need You, I Love You.”

Warren and Dee Howsare of Clearville, Pa., recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Their family had a card shower and money tree for the occasion and Ferman and Denna Cruz of Clearville surprised them with a music gram. The couple’s great-niece, Morgan Bowser of Everett, presented them with a 50th anniversary bell. A family cookout was held at the couple’s home. Their were four cakes served in honor of Warren and Dee’s anniversary, Warren and Dee’s birthdays, their son Brian’s birthday and the 34th anniversary of CJ and Lee Kifer of Bedford. CJ is the brother of Dee. Marking the family milestones are, from left, Warren and Dee, Brian, and Lee and CJ Kifer. Also attending were Brad, Carisa and Alexis Bowser of Everett. Carisa is the daughter of CJ and Lee. Dee’s sister, Grace Burl of Fountain Hills, Ariz., also attended.
