LAVALE — A 50th anniversary celebration was held on Feb. 11, 2012, for Bob and Linda Boyce of LaVale. The event was hosted by their children and took place at Park Place United Methodist Church in LaVale.
The couple was married at Park Place on Jan. 26, 1962, and are still members there. Connie Humbertson, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor, and Mick Knieriem, brother-in-law of the couple, was the best man.
To celebrate the original date, the couple enjoyed a 12-day cruise to the Western Caribbean.
The Boyces are the proud parents of five children: Scott and his wife Nancy, of Millersville; Todd and his wife Patricia, of Sterling, Va.; Eric and his wife Diane, Brandon and his fiancee Holli, and daughter, Mindy Maiers-Dicken and husband Brian, all of Cumberland.
They are blessed with nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Since retirement, Bob enjoys hunting and fishing with his sons, driving his ’57 Chevy, and playing and singing in the local bluegrass band, Black Diamond. Since Linda’s retirement, she has been enjoying reading, sewing, swimming, taking long walks and caring for her grandchildren. Together, they enjoy traveling.
The couple wishes to express appreciation and thanks to their family and friends, who came to share in this memorable occasion.
We especially would like to extend our heartfelt thanks, love and appreciation to our daughter-in-law, Nancy Boyce, who so caringly gave of her time and talents, to make the day extra special.
