Merlyn, a 1-year-old neutered male red merle and white Australian cattledog mix is friendly and would do best in a single pet household, according to officials at the Allegany County Animal Shelter. The shelter is located at 716 Furnace St., Cumberland. Adoption hours are weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The shelter will be closed Friday and Sunday and will reopen Monday.
