Fred, a 1-year-old male Shih Tzu mix, has had his first puppy vaccinations and is very friendly. He would like to thank “Strut Your Mutt” for his new fall “do,” according to an Allegany County Animal Shelter spokeswoman. The shelter is located at 716 Furnace St., Cumberland. Adoption hours are weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The shelter’s Web site is www.petfinder.org/shelters/MD203. The Animal Shelter will be closed Wednesday in observance of Veterans Day.
